DESCRIPTION:As the Bus Stop Theatre enters its 15th year as a vital hub of theatre and culture in the city\, we’re preparing for its exciting new future… as a vital hub of theatre and culture in the city. We’re not changing our purpose\, we’re living up to it. Come join in: Our Annual General Meeting is on March 18th\, and you’re invited! \nTo celebrate our anniversary\, a FREE COMPANY MEMBERSHIP will be drawn as a door prize at our AGM thanks to Nitrotek Web Solutions !!! \nAt the AGM\, we’ll be reviewing some of our accomplishments over the last year\, and there’ll be an update on our plans for 2018. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the theatre\, and you’ll be able get involved by signing up as a committee volunteer. Membership sign-ups and renewals at all levels will also be available. \nAlso\, there will be elections for next year’s Board of Directors. New voices are always encouraged — we welcome the chance to broaden our board’s horizons. If you are curious about running for a spot on the board\, feel free to contact us for more information! \nVolunteers and members are important\, but we also depend on the support and engagement of the community itself\, so feel free to extend this invitation to anyone you’d think would be interested. \nWe hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Award season is upon us once again\, and the Bus Stop Theatre Co-op is so excited to be hosting the Merritt After Party for the third year in a row! \nCome toast the winners\, dance like no one is watching\, and chat with all of your favourite folks during this celebration of theatre\, community and excellence.  \nAND…….. \nThis year marks the Bus Stop Theatre’s 15th Birthday!! \nIn honour of this wonderful space\, we are launching our $15 for the 15th campaign. $1 for every year we’ve been around. Entrance to the party will be through a $15 suggested donation (or PWYC). Not able to make it to the party\, but still want to help celebrate our birthday? DESCRIPTION:The Bus Stop Theatre Co-op presents WIT: Women in Theatre\, a three-day celebration\, showcase\, and skill-building weekend of love. \nWomen\, females\, femmes\, and the feminine\, 2018 is our year. \nJoin us March 30-April 1st or a series of workshops\, readings\, and laughter. WIT provides an opportunity for women off all skill levels to learn from other women and engage with their peers. \nFRIDAY:\nLearn to fight with Karen Bassett [workshop] 10am – 12pm\nMix some sick beats with DJ lil’ arepa! [workshop] 1pm – 3pm \nWomen in Theatre panel 6 – 7:30pm\nThe Witches Ball — Get down with your inner feminine magic 9pm  \n————————–————————–—- \nSATURDAY:\nAnalyse text like a director with Lara Lewis and Anna Shepard [workshop] 11am – 4pm \nReadings + film screenings of local women’s work 7:30pm\nOpen mic + Karaoke 9:30pm \n————————–————————–—- \nSUNDAY:\nLearn how to make people laugh (improv) with Stepheny Hunter [workshop] 11am – 4pm \nApril Fool’s Femme comedy night 7:30pm \nTICKETS available at tickethalifax.ca\nWorkshops: Pay in cash: $30 for all four or $10 each.
