DESCRIPTION:HALIFAX FRINGE FESTIVAL \nFirst Fridays // First Album\nHosted by Michael Lake and Dustin Harvey\nProduced by XOST \nThe idea is really simple.\nPeople share true life stories about first things in their lives.\nThe meetings happen the First Friday of every month.\nEach month has a theme.\nThe theme this month is FIRST ALBUM. \nStories should be about your first cassette\, record\, cd\, 8-track\, or itunes purchase…\nAll stories are 5 minutes or less.\nEach story will be include a playing of a track from the album and followed by a Q&A. \nA couple curated stories will help break the ice\, but everyone is encouraged to share their story\, and have a few drinks and talk further. People will get a chance to learn more about each other\, and then interact. Ultimately the goal is to bring people together\, and build connection within the performance community. \nWho should come? Don’t wear a ‘comical’ amount of clothing. Wear a normal outfit for you. Some contestants come wearing 2 pieces of clothing\, some come wearing 6. Let’s say max 6.\n2. Accessories don’t count.\n3. shoes/socks count as one item.\n4. You get a word wrong\, you take something off. You do not have to do anything you don’t want to do. Some folks choose that the furthest they will go is down to is underwear and a scarf. That’s cool. Once you have gone as far as you want to go\, you do one more round\, and then you are out.\n5. No full frontal nudity (sorry) you can only go as far as your unders. So choose your bottoms wisely. They are the big finish! Comical\, sexy\, G-string\, thong\, etc. And really\, it’s all about the spelling!\n6. Everyone (yes even flat chested folks) need to have nipples covered. Join the Prismatic artists and audiences at Halifax’s Bus Stop Theatre and become part of the FREE show! \nFestival goers are invited to end the night with us either on the stage or in the audience of this interactive performance installation. All within the length of a song\, each performance challenges the participant to navigate the boundaries between the familiar and unfamiliar. \nStephanie Yee is a multidisciplinary artist known for creating thoughtful and immersive work that interrogates concepts of community and identity. Using performance\, video\, sculpture and installation\, she creates spaces where the audience can negotiate a work’s meaning together. Blurring the lines between real and imagined scenarios\, Yee’s practice aims to re-examine notions of everyday life. \n
