DESCRIPTION:In May of 2024\, Halifax will be hosting the Atlantic Burlesque Festival at the Scotiabank Studio in Neptune Theatre. This exciting event is the first of its kind and aims to spotlight the incredible talent of Burlesque performers in Atlantic Canada\, foster community growth\, and provide networking opportunities with the wider burlesque world. The event is being organized by a brand new non-profit cooperative composed of burlesque performers from throughout the region. On January 13th\, this cooperative will be hosting a fundraising event at the Bus Stop Theatre and promises to be a very big deal!!! They have pulled together talent from every major burlesque company in Halifax (as well as some surprises from away) for one unforgettable night of laughter\, seduction\, joy and celebration of performing art. What a way to start the year!! \nThe night’s itinerary is literally spilling over with amazing performances from the region’s most talented burlesque artists\, a jaw-dropping silent auction featuring a trove of tantalizing treasures\, interactive games\, go-go dancing and more! The night will reach its boiling point with a dance party hosted by DJ Vero and an opportunity to wiggle with the city’s brightest and sparkliest burlesque talent! \nProceeds from tickets\, tips\, auctions and donations are ALL going toward making the Atlantic provinces a leading destination for burlesque!
