SUMMARY:Nighthawk Screening
DESCRIPTION:NIGHTHAWK: A long time ago there was a team of scientists fronted by Doctor E.D. Gast (Mattias Dyson) who wanted to achieve power. Their experiments ended up getting their project shut down but not before a dangerous chemical had left the lab. Years later\, Kyle Richmond (Cole Foran) learns of the Project C experiment and enlists the help of his friend James Sanders (Noah James) to help him track down the one responsible for this. Along the way\, Mindy Williams (Lauren Galbraith) finds herself as part of Kyle’s journey which Kyle attempts to stop in fear of her getting hurt. \nIn the beginning\, James and Kyle are a well-oiled machine until James wishes to have a life outside of their team. In response\, Kyle throws himself deeper into his mission to find Doctor Gast and his associates\, unaware of the Fallout he is causing with James and Mindy. However\, a shocking revelation made in the aftermath of a mistake will force an unlikely partnership and lead to Kyle learning the true value of having help in Vanquishing his problems. \nJoin us on November 14 as we screen Nighthawk for the second time ever. What started as an idea for a small skit of someone being trapped in a basement back in 2016 has evolved into something bigger than anybody could have predicted. Not only does Nighthawk highlight the journey that Kyle and James take as friends as they grow\, struggle and learn\, but it also highlights the journey of two directors learning the ins and outs of how to make a film. This is as much of an adventure for us as it was for the characters and we hope you can enjoy celebrating the culmination of said adventure with us. This event is free of charge with a free-will offering being collected at the event.

SUMMARY:Pride vs. Prejudice Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first ever Atlantic Canadian screening of Pride vs. Prejudice: The Delwin Vriend Story! Delwin Vriend\, an Albertan teacher\, was fired from his job specifically because he was gay. This spectacular documentary follows his fight against his own government for basic human rights and dignity\, providing intriguing insight into the dramatic court decisions and judicial behaviour which caused widespread public furor during his legal battles. His eventual victory had widespread social impacts\, not just in Alberta\, or Canada\, but around the globe. By deconstructing the experience of Delwin Vriend and other LGBTQ2S+ Canadians\, this film explores not only an essential step forward for LGBT2QS+ rights in Canada\, but reminds us why continued efforts for human rights are necessary – now more than ever. \nTicket details: Tickets are available by pay-what-you-can donation. Donation will be taken at the door. Although some seats may be available on the night of the screening\, seats are limited and we ask that you confirm your attendance by email at vriendfilmmc@gmail.com.
