Csaba enjoys playing Jazz standards with a Latin flavour\, creating a sound all of his own. He enjoys participating in jazz and multicultutal festivals accross Canada.\n\nGraham Berry is a professional composer\, arranger and entertainer for more than 30 years and has performed all over the world. Graham has worked in recording studios in Los Angeles and Las Vagas\, composed and performed for television and for headliners such as Cleo Lane\, Johnny Dankworth\, Benny Carter and Bobby​ Shew.\n\n​​ Lukas Pearse is a Halifax basist\, composer\, film sound designer and video artist. He has worked with many of the region’s most creative musicians and artists across varied facets of the cultural scene for over 35 years. His love of sound and original music\, especially improvised music of all sorts\, ensure that his ears are kept open wide.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of live music\, and community celebration. \nFeaturing local Queer musicians\, the concert will include mostly non-traditional music\, while celebrating the diversity of our community. From solos\, duets\, and the entire cast\, there will be a variety of performances throughout the evening. Last year we almost sold out so we encourage folks to grab their tickets in advance! \nPerformers include: Riley Reign\, Jade Bennett\, Kiana Josette\, and Natasha Sophia. We’re also excited to announce that the Halifax Queer Ensemble will be providing LIVE music during the show. \nWe’re also hosting a FREE pot-luck-style lunch the day of\, with a craft workshop. Craft ornaments will be added to our community tree which will be on display in the theatre during the show. If folks can’t attend\, the event will be live-streamed so you can enjoy it from the comfort of home. \nBoth our concert and potluck are a great way to gather as a community\, connect with new friends\, and celebrate the upcoming holidays. \n

Drawing inspiration from pop music\, horror films\, tennis matches and graphic novels\, the band’s experimental approach is their key inspiration to deliver an engaging and rhythmic sound. \nFANG AsS is the return of the satanic panic.\nA confrontational\, camp and seductive dramaturge\, Slash Need have earned a reputation for putting on high-energy theatrical live performances. With roots in the DIY community in Toronto\, Slash Need have performed their industrial electronic dance music in abandoned buildings\, galleries\, skateparks\, legion halls\, raves\, art galleries\, at drag shows and venues across Canada\, the U.S and abroad. Recognised virally as nasty\, filthy perverts; Slash Need aim to intrigue and disgust. \nKayza lives and works in Kjipuktuk (Halifax). Their practice includes painting\, textiles\, sculpture and virtual reality. As a Black/biracial and transgender visual artist\, Kayza’s current work is inspired by narratives of psychological shadows\, often resulting in the invasion of the fantasy world into mundane settings. \nNectar Collective is a queer DJ collective based in Kjipuktuk (Halifax). Through their flagship event\, SLURP\, founders  Aniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiita\, DJ Decision and DJ Dumb Little Bitch have spent the past year bringing together queers of every flavor to shake ass and simmer in the yummiest gay broth Halifax has slurped in a lonnggg time. \nBackxwash is a Rapper/Producer that was born in Lusaka\, Zambia. The music she makes is cathartic\, expressive and based on her lived experiences.

Friday August 25th\, join us for a drop-in day of performances from local artists\, food\, and fun activities! \nWith theatrical performances from ZUPPA\, The Villains Theatre\, and Keith Morrison\, standup comedy from Adam Myatt\, a breakdance cypher with the F.L.A.S.H. Crew\, spoken word from Andre Fenton\, music from Page. 20 Band\, Cong Chen\, Riley Reign\, Psiren\, and General Khan\, burlesque performances from Elle Lixer\, Cyd Chartreuse\, Aiya Xiaoxin\, Tishina La Tush\, Tiny Orchid and members of Atlantic Boylesque and visual art from Sydney Wreaks. Our lineup reflects some of the diverse array of art forms presented at the Bus Stop Theatre over the years.  Plus\, check out our Bingo\, BBQ\, door prizes\, 50/50\, Penny Auction\, Facepainting\, Photobooth\, Bus Stop Memories\, and more! \n“The Bus Stop Theatre has been a vital arts hub for twenty years\, which is an astounding feat. The theatre exists thanks to the hard work of many volunteers whose dreams of an accessible black box venue on Gottingen street has made the Bus Stop what it is today\,” says Colleen MacIsaac\, founding Board member of the Co-op and interim General Manager. “Come out to the theatre to drop in for any of these amazing performances\, check out what the theatre is like\, or even to record a memory you might have about the Bus Stop. She trapped over 70 cougars\, homesteaded a rainforest bog\, opened a remote post office\, and outlived 4 husbands.\n\nCalifornia-born Ada Annie Jordan settled in the Clayoquot coastal rainforest in 1915 with her first husband and three young children. A five-acre garden that she carved out of the wilderness provided food and income throughout her long life. The bounty on cougars supplemented her income and she earned her nickname of Cougar Annie by shooting over 70 of the animals. Annie gave birth to eight more children in this remote location\, and in fact rarely left the property until old age and blindness forced her removal to Port Alberni\, where she died at the age of 97.\n\nSinger/songwriter Kat Kadoski lived in Clayoquot Sound for three years caretaking Cougar Annie’s garden and immersing herself in the folklore surrounding the legendary pioneer-settler.
