DESCRIPTION:Cap off your long weekend with a good ol’ community punked-up-folk singalong rendition of Jesus Christ Superstar. We’ve all been working on this project for the winter (or longer)\, and are excited to share it with you all! Don’t worry about memorizing lyrics (if you haven’t already) as they will be projected on the wall for all to see so you can belt it out with the rest of the apostles\, market vendors and lepers. Please note that this is a “concert-style” i.e. not staged\, version of the musical. \nAll ages show\, admission by donation (suggested $10). \nDoors at 7:30pm\, music starts approximately at 8pm. \nLive music to be provided by the ever-legendary: \nAram Kouyoumdjian (Jesus)\nCory Bowles (Judas)\nGene Huh (Pilate)\nShelder the Electric Clamfish (Mary Magdalene/King Herod)\nPreston Hudson (Simon/Annas)\nJeff Wheaton (Caiaphas)

The KAMP Cabaret Band will include musicians from the Halifax Music Co-Op\, under the Musical Direction of John Bogardus. \nA ticket to KAMP Songspiel gives you admission to two separate stage readings of the play presented during the STAGES Theatre Festival on May 16th and 27th! \nSo that’s THREE performances for one ticket. \n\nDescription:\nThe Nazis hated them because they were gay… but that’s what saved them. \nKAMP is a two-act musical that tells the story of a group of homosexual men\, interred in a Nazi concentration camp\, who use their artistic talents to secretly produce their own musical revue; a project that would give them hope to survive\, hold on to their identities\, and maintain their humanity. KAMP is based on historical truth. \nThis reading is presented in a unique way. \n  \nHow the ‘multiple readings’ thing works:\nAfter you have enjoyed\, experienced and lived the music at the songspiel… \nThe play receives a first reading in week one of the STAGES Theatre Festival\, then a second reading in week two after work has been done. \n‘KAMP’ (by Jamie Bradley & Garry Williams ) will be the second play script to receive this treatment. We initiated this process in 2016 and it proved successful and very useful to the writer. \nSession 1 will feature a staged-reading of this new work in-development followed by a moderated feedback session with the audience.  Over the course of ten days\, the playwrights will rework the piece (heeding OR ignoring the audience’s comments!) for a reading to take place the following week.\n \n \n\n
