DESCRIPTION:Matchstick Theatre proudly presents its production of Jordan Tannahill’s Governor General’s award-winning play Peter Fechter: 59 Minutes\, this March at The Bus Stop Theatre Co-op. \nHalf documentary\, Peter Fechter: 59 Minutes tells the very real story of two boys who attempt to join the many who defected into West Berlin by crossing the Berlin Wall. The attempt\, however\, results in eighteen-year-old Peter getting shot in the lower pelvis. He lay between the border’s barricades for approximately an hour before dying from this injury. Half conceptualization\, Tannahill expertly navigates these fifty-nine minutes from gunshot to final breath\, exploring what could possibly have motivated Peter to risk his life to cross the wall. What can matter to us so much that we risk everything for it? \nThe play stars Peter Sarty\, Henricus Gielis\, Andrew Chandler\, and Rena Kossatz. The event will showcase new\, emerging and established fashion and jewelry lines in the Halifax Regional Municipality such as Taylor Made Clothing\, Art Pays Me\, TREV\, Winners Circle\, Mae Lyn Creations and Maybe Now Collections with performances by MAJE and Truth Williams. Come join in: Our Annual General Meeting is on March 18th\, and you’re invited! \nTo celebrate our anniversary\, a FREE COMPANY MEMBERSHIP will be drawn as a door prize at our AGM thanks to Nitrotek Web Solutions !!! \nAt the AGM\, we’ll be reviewing some of our accomplishments over the last year\, and there’ll be an update on our plans for 2018. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the theatre\, and you’ll be able get involved by signing up as a committee volunteer. DESCRIPTION:THE BUS STOP THEATRE CO-OP TRADE SCHOOL \nAllan is bringing his expertise to the Bus Stop Theatre for a crash course on live sound reinforcement to share as much as he can with folks who want to get a basic understanding of audio fundamentals and how they work in the live setting and will be sure to drop more than a few pointers\, tips and tricks along the way. \n>>REGISTER HERE \n“We will be covering everything from the ground up. From cables to mixing a singer songwriter. My goal is to get people to the level of comfort that they can go out and do this for small shows the next day and be confident in what they can do” \nWith over fifteen years in the music production and live entertainment industry\, Allan has worked in every aspect of the business from both sides of the studio glass and stage all over north America in various recording studios and venues. He has learned the industry from the ground up. \n“It’s important to not only know what your job is\, but also what the artist is thinking and trying to portray. It’s their art and you need to be able to interpret that for them. This comes with being in their shoes as much as possible” \nAllan has taught many interns the ropes and learned from some of the best in the industry. Working alongside of top recording and live engineers and dealing with international and local acts\, he has been able to learn on the road as well as being trained by leading digital arts and community colleges and has been working steady in the industry for the last six years in Atlantic Canada as a live technician and performer. \nWho can attend?\nAnyone!
