Mis en place grâce au support de la FéCANE et du Conseil communautaire du Grand-Havre – CCGH. \nTout seuls sur une île\, deux vieillards vivent une vie de répétition insupportable. En racontant les mêmes histoires\, jouant les mêmes jeux\, travaillant le même boulot\, et toujours\, toujours\, toujours la même chose… mais tout cela va bientôt s’arrêter. Après avoir invité le monde entier à sa résidence et après de nombreuses heures à l’oeuvre\, maintenant le vieux est prêt à partager son message avec le tout de l’humanité. De l’humanité ! Formed in 2003\, reveling in the aughts of myspace\, tumblr\, soundcloud and other social media sites\, Dreamcrusher began as a project of self-discovery and self-release while contained in a queer\, gender non-binary (they/them pronouns\, not he/him or she/her)\, black body in America’s bible belt. Creating over thirty releases\, splits\, extended plays and singles all before 2014\, without ever releasing a full-length album\, each project shows a very individual growth while sitting in many scenes that often don’t lend themselves to explicit artistic morphing. The Dreamcrusher project and their releases have become increasingly more personal\, confrontational\, concise and challenging. After migrating from Kansas to New York City\, their success hit new heights diving headfirst into the American live DIY scene. Dreamcrusher continues to alter the overwhelmingly rigid aesthetic of ‘noise’ and underground scenes by expanding the meaning of ‘genre’\, and in many ways completely distorting ‘genre’ to form to them rather than the reverse. SUMMARY:Halifax Stands With Water Protectors - Silent Auction Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Water protectors are on the front lines at the mighty Shubenacadie River resisting Alton Gas. They are doing crucial work to protect the water for all of us. With winter coming\, they need our support to keep them warm and safe. \nProceeds from this third annual silent auction and performance fundraiser will directly support frontline resistance efforts against the Alton Gas Natural Gas Storage project. \nThe event is being planned on unceded Mi’kmaq Territory by SWAGR (Solidarity With Alton Gas Resistance)\, a Halifax-based group of activists from Council of Canadians\, Ecology Action Centre\, Solidarity Halifax\, and the general community.
