DESCRIPTION:On November 1st & 10th I’ll be doing a series of Headshot mini-sessions and full sessions at a discounted price at The Bus Stop Theatre!  \nWho is this for? Any actor\, professional\, artist\, or human looking to get a few portraits of themselves!  \nA mini session is 25 minutes and includes 3 fully edited photos for web & print. The nature of the time allows for “1 look” or one outfit. I’ll have a couple different backdrops setup on the day inside and around the theatre.  \nA full session is 50 minutes and allows for multiple looks\, or outfits. Again I’ll have a few different setups and we’ll be able to capture exactly what you want! A full session includes 6 fully edited photos  \nI love humans\, and I want to make you SHINE! Le vendredi soir\, le thème sera annoncé et ensuite les participants disposent de deux jours pour écrire\, tourner et monter un film qu’ils devront impérativement remettre 48 h après le lancement du concours. Le dimanche soir\, toutes les équipes assistent à la projection des films ainsi qu’à la remise des prix ! Note: Les films doivent durer entre 1 et 4 minutes et ils doivent inclure au moins 51 % de dialogues en français.\n \nCette année\, notre seconde édition se tiendra en format présentiel et virtuel. It’s a one-stop-shop for all of your holiday gift giving needs\, or the perfect place to treat yourself to something wonderful.\n \nThis year\, due to Covid-19\, the event itself will be a little bit different. We will be launching the baskets in an online auction on November 25th\, giving folks 10 days to bid\, and ending with a live-streamed auction and winners announcement on December 5th that anyone can participate in from the comfort of their home!\n \nOur annual basket auction was created to celebrate our amazing membership (now member-owners!!)\, and as a fundraiser for the Bus Stop Theatre Co-op. This year\, all funds raised will be going towards our two new pilot programs: the Reconciliation & Reparations Fund and the Sign Language Interpretation Subsidy! The Bus Stop Theatre Co-op is setting up two separate funds to make the rental of our theatre more accessible to Indigenous peoples and to people of African descent\, and also to help support the hiring of sign language interpreters during events hosted at the Bus Stop. Live streaming from The Bus Stop\, allows you to make full use of the production values of a professionally equipped and staffed space\, while getting your art out to a potentially wider audience.\n\nThis workshop will be a primer on live streaming your shows at the Bus Stop. it will cover how to set up the space\, hook up the necessary cameras and audio equipment\, set up your computer\, use the OBS streaming software\, as well as captioning your events.\n—\nAbout Your Workshop Leader:\nMatt Downey (They/He) is the Technical Director of The Bus Stop Theatre Co-op. The play culminates in a Zar exorcism ceremony\, intended to rid a young man of the “sickness” of his love for an outcast young woman\, that ultimately reveals a father’s long-buried secrets.\nAsheq: Ritual Music to Cure a Lover is set on the shores of the Persian Gulf in southern Iran where East African and Persian traditions have blended over time to produce unique cultural practices\, including the modern Zar rituals. The play explores how cultures and communities change over time: how traditions can be sustained from generation to generation and also how there can be sudden\, overnight cultural change.\nAsheq: Ritual Music to Cure a Lover premiered in 2018 at the Prismatic Arts Festival in Halifax\, and had its Ontario debut at the Harbourfront Centre Theatre in Toronto\, December 2018. We value cross-pollination and we invite writers from other disciplines to join us! Whether you want to dip your toes into playwriting or you want to get feedback on your poetry/screenplay/short story\, we’d love to have you.\n\nWe have resources to support artists working towards professional productions\, but we welcome all writers\, whether you identify as “professional” or not.\n\nThe BST Writer’s Circle is organized by producer Meg Hubley and coordinator Karen Gross.\n\nHOW IT WORKS:\nWe meet on the third Sunday of every month.\n\nAfter you sign up\, we’ll confirm your spot (and send you the Zoom link) a week before the session. We have space for ten people who want to share work plus five people who just want to listen and give feedback.\n\nSessions are about two hours long with a break halfway through and ten minutes per writer to share writing and hear feedback. His artistry cannot be defined solely by one medium. Cavell uses dance\, acting\, and design as the primary vehicles for his expression.\nBeginning his career dancing at the age of 15\, Cavell decided that professional performance was a passion\, not a hobby. Studying dance with Halifax’s The Woods\, and at Broadway Dance Center in New York City\, he trained with world renowned choreographers including Luam\, Neil Schwartz\, Gil DuDulau\, and Parris Goebel\, Jermaine Browne\, Jojo Gomez\, and Mishay Petronelli. Cavell’s versatility and unique style has led him to work in a number of capacities with a plethora of artists. Holland has choreographed and performed works for screen and stage\, for the likes of We Day\, A Tribe Called Red\, Neon Dreams\, KinCrew\, CTV’s “I Do ReDo”\, FAMBA\, and Vardaan Aurora to name a few. Since\, his artistic pursuits have translated to recognition and expansion\, in 2019 Cavell was named Halifax’s Best Dancer and Choreographer and is currently faculty at Halifax’s own House of Eights Dance Studio.\nIn addition to dancing\, Cavell uses his understanding of physicality and performance to expand into other realms. DESCRIPTION:Comedy / Horror \nF bombs \nJane Kansas returns to the Halifax Fringe. She had a great debut a few years back\, with My Funeral : the dry run. That was followed by My Dead Dad : stories from the front yard\, two years ago. \nShe couldn’t make it last year because she was too busy having open heart surgery. Her heart attack ended up needing six hospital admissions and about 170 days in Dartmouth General and the QEII. Let her tell you all about it! In fact\, just try and stop her. My First Heart Attack is billed as a comedy / horror because some really\, really terrible things happened (just you wait until you hear about the Catheterization Lab) but those things are told with the usual Kansas humour. She’s not dead yet!

Written by Canadian playwrights Daniel Arnold and Medina Hahn\, this critically-acclaimed play has toured extensively across Canada and internationally. Kitbag Theatre’s lauded\, sold out production at the Watermark Theatre in 2020 was the piece’s PEI premiere. \nWe first find William and Mary as blank slates.
