DESCRIPTION:A Beginner’s Guide to the Night Sky’ introduces us to Léo\, a young nonbinary person\, who invites us into their mother’s observational astronomy class. The effervescent and unabashed Albertine tells us about the stars through music\, metaphor\, and story\, teaching us songs to sing along with her and enthusiastically showing us the universe from her perspective. Inviting the audience to enjoy the night sky\, learn about the universe\, and sing a capella songs together\, this play is an hour-long piece of queer magic that is heartbreaking\, uplifting\, and full of joy. \nStarring Geneviève Steele and Rooks Field-Green\, directed by Garry Williams\, and written by Colleen Arcturus MacIsaac with design by Noella Murphy\, Brenda Chicas-Duran\, and Matthew Downey and stage management by Dan Bray.

At its core\, this new work questions the unknowable nature of life and relationships as two mothers strive to navigate a world so bizarre that it gives us creatures like the octopus – brilliant\, yet deceptive – as well as the anglerfish – forsaken\, yet misunderstood.
