SUMMARY:Assassins
DESCRIPTION:Assassins lays bare the lives of nine individuals who assassinated or tried to assassinate the President of the United States\, in a one-act historical “revusical” that explores the dark side of the American experience. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald\, writers\, Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman\, bend the rules of time and space\, taking us on a nightmarish roller coaster ride in which assassins and would-be assassins from different historical periods meet\, interact and inspire each other to harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream. \nIt’s frank\, comedic\, dark\, and utterly compelling. The cry of the disenfranchised rings true in our current political and social climate\, with characters ripped from history speaking truth to the despair so often felt in 2019. \nAs with all of our shows\, we are partnering with a non-profit organization to raise funds and awareness. For this production\, we’re delighted to support the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. An advocacy\, education and funding group\, they provide supports and resources to the citizens of Nova Scotia suffering with a wide variety of mental health issues. We want to bring attention to the work they do\, and the desperate need for advocacy and education surrounding mental health care. $1 from every ticket sold is guaranteed to the charity. The more money we can raise to cover costs before the show\, the more we can donate! \n**TICKETS NOW ON SALE** \n***Assassins Cast & Crew*** \nBooth: Andrew Chandler*\nGuiteau: Mike Chandler*\nZangara: Cat McCluskey\nByck: Ali House\nHinckley: Tyler Craig\nFromme: Sasha Paiken\nMoore: Laura Thornton\nCzologosz: Tris Healy\nGoldman/As Cast: Katelyn Barker\nHerold/As Cast: Jakob Creighton\nAssistant/As Cast: Sarah Smith\nThe Balladeer: Julia Topple\nThe Proprietor: Leigh Fitzner-LeBlanc \nProducer: Laura Thornton\nAssociate Producer & Production Manager: Olivia McGinn\nDirector & Choreographer: Ian Gilmore*\nMusical Director: Sarah Richardson\nStage Manager: Ricky Buchanan\nAssistant Stage Manager: Christine Fitzner-Leblanc\nAssistant Stage Manager: Ian Richards \nCostume Design: Hannah Burgos\nLight Design: Olivia McGinn\nMarketing Design: Sean Skerry\nProps Design & Construction: Ian Richards\nSet Design & Construction: Dutch Swindells\nSound Design: June Zinck* \n*Appearing courtesy of the Canadian Actors Equity Association.

SUMMARY:Peter and the Starcatcher
DESCRIPTION:Take an unforgettable journey through the Neverland you never knew this February 20-25th\, as Whale Song Theatre brings “Peter and the Starcatcher” to life. \nEmbark on an adventure to a whimsical world filled with pirates\, mermaids and magic. This five-time Tony Award winner tells the story of a Starcatcher’s apprentice and her mission to retrieve a trunk of precious ‘starstuff’ with the help of a young orphan boy named Peter—a boy who is destined to never grow up. This wildly theatrical and hilarious prequel to the beloved story of Peter Pan is sure to ‘hook’ audiences of all ages. \nThirteen actors play more than 100 characters\, and through ingenious stagecraft\, inventive storytelling and live music whisk audiences away to a place where growing up can be an awfully big adventure. \nThis show is in support of the IWK Foundation. $1 from every ticket is donated directly to the Foundation. On Fundraiser Friday (February 23) we donate $5 from every ticket sold to the hospital. \nTHIS SHOW IS FAMILY FRIENDLY BUT THERE IS QUITE A BIT OF CHEEKY ADULT HUMOUR. THE SHOW IS RATED PG.
