EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: 8 weeks (Start date June 15th 2026)

PAY: 35 hrs/week

 

All applicants must be under 30 years of age to qualify as this position is offered as a part of the Canada Summer Jobs program, an initiative to provide youths under 30 with paid summer employment opportunities. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Communications Manager is responsible for the summer communications & outreach activities of the Bus Stop Theatre Co-op. These include both internal and external components such as: 

  • Updating our social media and website.
  • Coordinating promotion with renters.
  • Creating graphics.
  • Posters and other promotional material.
  • Communications and engagement with co-op members. 

 

Furthermore, the Operations Assistant is responsible for executing a summer fundraising campaign. The tasks related to this project include:

  • Creating a sponsorship package.
  • Reaching out to potential sponsors.
  • Partners in the community.
  • Writing promotional copy.
  • Setting and meeting sponsorship goals.
  • Liaising with the board, staff, and committees of the Bus Stop Theatre Co-op.

Activities are located in a fully wheelchair accessible building with gender-neutral washrooms. As such, participants will face fewer barriers than in other performance venues. The Communications Manager will also be responsible for reaching out to underrepresented communities, visible minorities, and newcomers to Canada through direct engagement and invitations to summer events at the Bus Stop Theatre. In this way, the position also supports the provision of services to these communities.
