“Art spaces are really what define a city, a community and build that sense of belonging and ownership”
Sebastien Labelle, Former Executive Director of the Bus Stop Theatre
Halifax is a rapidly changing city where space is increasingly unaffordable and unavailable. This feature length documentary follows the stories of three art spaces – The Waiting Room, 1588 Barrington (The Khyber, The Turret), and the Bus Stop Theatre. Tracing their fragility against wider forces of change in the city, it highlights the perseverance required to create and protect these essential spaces.
The Director Gareth Wasylynko is a videographer and former city planner interested in how cities change.
