Tanya Kalmanovitch is exceptional. She is a virtuoso violist, a teacher, environmental activist, writer, and a Canadian! Tanya will be in Halifax March 2nd and 3rd for performances, presented by suddenlyLISTEN.
On Sunday, March 3 suddenlyLISTEN will gather some of the region’s more adventurous string players for a concert with Tanya Kalmanovitch
at The Bus Stop Theatre. Each of the musicians in this quartet has a distinct and interesting musical voice. Each one could carry the show on their own, but we have put them all together to make an uber group of improvising string players! There will definitely be jazzy, beautiful, contemporary, microtonal, scratchy, touching, hilarious, music made.
Musicians:
Tanya Kalmanovitch (viola: New York)
Donald MacLennan (violin)
Norm Adams (cello)
Andrew R Miller (contrabass: Saint John NB)
8pm, Saturday March 3
The Bus Stop Theatre
2203 Gottingen Street Halifax
Admission $20, or pay what you can.
