The Halifax Fringe Festival is an annual arts festival for everyone. We are non-juried and hold a lottery to program the festival by selecting shows randomly in a draw. We do not evaluate applicants’ artistic merit or the work’s viability – everyone has the same chance of earning a place in our festival.
The Halifax Fringe was officially established in 1990 and has produced an annual Fringe Festival ever since. We are a non-profit association run by a volunteer board. We are a proud member of The Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals, Theatre Nova Scotia, and The Bus Stop Theatre Coop.
