1. 30/60 | Up the Hill Theatre | Opens tonight!From the team that brought you last year’s sell-out production of “Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind” comes another theatrical race-against-the-clock! Their madcap performers will act as hard and as fast as they can, all in effort to perform 30 original plays in 60 original minutes! Will they get through all 30? You’ll have to come see!

2. Episode 42 | Geeks vs Nerds | January 20Episode 42: Friends in Need is filled to the brim with some odd characters and stranger debaters. They’ve cooked up a couple of great matches for you! Jay & Silent Bob versus Trailer Park Boys and Eric Cartman versus Dr. Sheldon Cooper. As always you can expect some great 2 minute debates and NOOBS get in FREE!

3. In the Dead of Winter Festival | January 22-24In the Dead of Winter festival is an annual acoustic based festival right here in Halifax. The goal of the festival is to bring a diverse group of acoustic musicians together to not only perform but to also meet one another in a professional environment. The 2015 festival is being organized by Heather Gibson, Don Brownrigg, Amelia Curran, Dana Beeler, and Georgia Richards.

4. The Wisdom to Survive | Ecology Action Centre & Partners | January 27Partnering with The Bus Stop Theatre, Transition Bay and Fusion Halifax, The Ecology Action Centre is very excited to be hosting a documentary night! Join us for a screening of “The Wisdom to Survive: Climate Change, Capitalism and Community.” Following the screening there will be facilitated group discussion, led by Transition Bay.

5. Start Festival | A Bus Stop Production | January 29-31Now entering its second year, the StART Festival is a multidisciplinary festival of student art based out of the Bus Stop. Featuring two days of performances and art installations, with upwards of fifteen artists, the festival creates a hub of activity that allows emerging artists to connect with engaged audiences. Drawing students away from their respective campuses and into a community of peers working in different mediums, the StART Festival is a hotbed of creativity.
