Our Development and Technical Committees have been hard at work over the last several months securing sponsors and grants that are allowing the acquisition of new equipment for the theatre. Furthermore, the co-op has been coordinating with Clare Waque the execution of repair work to the building that has been much needed!
Sponsors
Peter Henry ARCHITECTS
Infrastructure Sponsor
Henry’s architecture has always been about frugality, with a focus on high energy efficiency and green technology if possible: try to do as little as you can, be as smart as you can be, before bolting on exotic equipment. As with his work on the Ecology Action Centre’s Fern Street headquarters, his specialty has been in renovations, and with his extra time he teaches in the Faculty of Architecture at Dalhousie.

Hospitality SponsorThe Haligonian Cafe & Bistro is a true taste of Halifax. Live music, traditional recipes and locally sourced food make any Haligonian feel at home, and everyone is Haligonian here! We cook from the heart, from small town roots, and classic Nova Scotian meals. Enjoy a coffee and some freshly baked pastries on our private patio.

Community Facilities Improvement Program
We have been granted $22,000 through the NS Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage! The funds will be used to acquire new materials, furniture and equipment. New acquisitions will include new chairs, lights, electrical wiring and a thermal pump.
Halifax – District 8 Capital Funding
Thanks to District 8 Councillor, Lindell Smith, we have been granted $5316.45 to use toward the acquisition of a new sound mixer and EQ, new wireless mics, and new lighting equipment.
Repairs & Reno
Thanks to Clare Waque, some long overdue, and very exciting (!) repairs are happening at the Bus Stop. Our dear(ish) old fire escape has been torn down to be soon replaced by a new and safe one. Also, roof work is currently underway to prevent leaks and any damage to our indoor equipment and furniture.
THANK YOU!!
A big heartfealt THANK YOU to all the individuals and organizations that have and continue to support us and make these projects, as well as our daily operations, possible!
