Rossum’s Universal Robots

February 12 - February 15

Rossum’s Universal Robots (R.U.R.) is a 1920’s Czech Sci-Fi play written by Karel Čapek,
about a factory which produces the first ever ‘Robots’, a term first introduced to the english language by Čapek himself. In Rhys Parks & Riley Reid’s adaptation of this script, they ask the audience what will become of a world dominated by robotic labour? And when (or if) a man-made machine becomes a living creature? Morals become grey, and the world changes, from the perspective of a monopolized industry. See the inevitable fate of the world, from the comfort of Rossum’s factory.
