Rachel Ruecker is a writer, performer, and stand-up comedian originally from Vancouver, currently living in Halifax. She has a BFA in Theatre from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and is still trying to make her life into a coming-of-age movie. She has performed her one-woman show my dad died and all i got was this show in at least three provinces (at the time of writing it is only two so this is mostly an accountability thing. please check on her.) She was named Vancouver’s Best Comedian in 2025 in The Georgia Straight which is sort of like the Oscars if the Oscars were a local indie newspaper’s annual issue on the city’s arts and culture scene. She also won the Whistler Comedy Competition once. She’s currently getting her MFA in creative nonfiction at the University of King’s College.
